Religious Education Coordinator

About the Role

As a key member of our school leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Catholic life of our school. Your responsibility will encompass leading the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of our institution while contributing to its management.

The Religious Education Coordinator has delegated responsibility for the coordination and supervision of teaching and learning in Religious Education and the religious dimension of the school.

We are seeking a highly effective and Catholic leader who:

- Is a committed Catholic with a deep understanding of the evangelising mission of Catholic schools

- Possesses strong leadership skills, particularly in Catholic identity and mission at a school and/or system level

- Is committed to working closely with priests and the parish community

- Can lead the preparation of liturgies and celebrations

- Is able to lead Religious Education in all aspects of curriculum development, implementation, and differentiation

- Demonstrates strong, contemporary leadership of learning, with the capacity to lead change and exhibit contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student learning

- Possesses excellent communication skills and can effectively build relationships with various stakeholders

- Can analyse and use data to inform learning and engage in future planning

- Has the ability to work collaboratively across all stages

- Is adaptable in working within a shared-leadership model

- Is a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community as an expression of their relationship with Jesus Christ.

You will have attained:

- Completed or has evidence of study toward a Graduate Diploma or Master of Religious Education, Theology, or Theological Studies from an approved institution

- Demonstrates the standard descriptors at lead teacher level, in accordance with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers

- Postgraduate units of study in leadership (advantageous)

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to prepare and deliver high-quality educational content
