Job Description

KPMG Law's national team of specialists has extensive experience assisting organisations and individuals in preparing for, managing and resolving tax disputes while maintaining an effective working relationship with revenue authorities.

The team is known as leading experts in this field and has been recognised for their expertise. They advise a broad range of clients including large multinationals, high wealth individuals and respected clients on domestic and cross-border tax issues they are dealing with in a rapidly changing world.

Your Opportunity

As part of our growing team, you will have the opportunity to be a key part of advising clients on many domestic and cross-border tax issues they are dealing with. The role involves:

  1. Working with clients in preparing for and resolving their risk reviews, audits and disputes with revenue authorities, including complex audits, preparing objections, briefing counsel and advising clients on litigation.
  2. Developing written and oral advocacy skills and providing legal advice, including taxation law and administrative law.
  3. Working nationally on most engagements, so all team members have an opportunity to work across all jurisdictions with partners and team members from other states.
  4. Collaboration with specialist groups across KPMG's practice in Australia and internationally.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have a Law Degree and previous experience in corporate tax, international tax, tax law and/or tax dispute resolution in either an advisory or Big 4 professional services firm, a law firm or the Australian Taxation Office. You should also be able to manage multiple and concurrent complex projects and negotiate with internal or external parties such as clients, government bodies and other organisations.
