Postdoctoral Research Associate AI-Driven Sensing and Control for Megaproject Systems.
- A research position available in intelligent sensing and control frameworks for megaprojects.
The appointee will contribute to a research stream focused on developing advanced decision-making capabilities in future megaprojects. This fixed-term opportunity is a full-time, two-year position located at the Camperdown Campus. The appointee will work under the supervision of Dr. Wanchun Liu.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality research in intelligent sensing and control for complex project environments.
- Develop and implement AI-based algorithms (e.g., GNNs, deep reinforcement learning) for megaproject systems.
- Design and simulate dynamic models of megaproject systems to enhance their performance.
- Prepare and submit journal articles to high-impact publications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers across engineering, management, and AI to advance megaproject delivery.
- Supervise or mentor research students as appropriate.
- PhD or near-completion in Project Management, Systems Engineering, Control Systems, or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning with a strong interest in megaproject applications.
- Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML algorithm development (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), dynamic modeling, and simulation of complex systems.
- Proficiency in Python and related computational toolchains.
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research bridging project governance, systems thinking, and intelligent control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
