**Emergency Medicine Trainee Role**

Job Description:

As an Emergency Medicine Trainee at Westmead Hospital, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working in the Emergency Department. The department operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, managing all types and levels of illnesses and injuries.

Our team provides care for people with severe physical injuries, with over 80,000 presentations per year. You will work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

The role involves working at the Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) level, directly responsible to the supervising Emergency Medicine Specialist of the day, with overall supervision by the Term Supervisor and the Emergency Department Director.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • MBBS or equivalent degree currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Completed at least two postgraduate years training in an Australian Public Hospital or equivalent (not as an observer)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment with commitment to self-education and continuous professional development
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
