Career Opportunity - Head Chef

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the smooth operation of the commercial kitchen and dining service, providing high-quality meals to residents in line with their dietary needs and wants. The role involves planning and preparation of fresh and nutritious meals, managing resources within the kitchen, maintaining a hygienically clean environment, consulting with residents on menu design and meal times, and ensuring all meals are visually well presented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare menus that cater to diverse resident needs and preferences.
  • Manage kitchen resources effectively, including equipment and food supplies, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to aged care quality standards.
  • Collaborate with residents to design and implement menus that meet their nutritional needs and preferences.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing commercial kitchens.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, staff, and stakeholders.
  • A certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
