About the Role

Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Fulfillment Center in Jandakot. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.

A Day in the Life

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to ensure our equipment is working safely. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You will make suggestions for long-term improvements and work alongside senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks and general building maintenance.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner)
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
  • Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of computer maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Experience of sortation machines
  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Experience of maintaining/configuring bar code scanners
  • Experience of print and apply machines
