The Role

As a Fire Services Engineer at WSce, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for clients on smaller projects while providing essential technical support to senior engineers on more complex assignments, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all technical outputs.

You will collaborate with a team that sets industry standards, embraces innovation, and consistently exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality design solutions for clients on smaller-scale projects while assisting senior staff on larger projects.
  • Interpret and fulfill design requirements based on client scope documents and project briefs.
  • Create precise technical drawings, calculations, and comprehensive design reports in line with internal standards and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct research to validate design solutions, ensuring clients receive detailed and accurate information.
  • Develop tests to assess the effectiveness of design solutions and participate in peer reviews.
  • Evaluate existing designs to identify improvements in performance and efficiency, recommending appropriate modifications.
  • Provide thorough and timely documentation to construction teams, remaining available for design interpretation.
  • Participate in site inspections, assess contractor work, and compile inspection reports.
  • Review contractor submissions and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate data in project management and financial systems, providing regular updates on deliverables and addressing any flagged concerns.
  • Adhere to project budgets and timelines, proactively identifying potential risks or changes in scope.
  • Keep detailed records of all design-related data to ensure a transparent decision-making process.
  • Maintain up-to-date internal records, including performance tracking, training logs, and career development progress.

About You

As a Fire Services Engineer, you possess substantial fire protection design experience, robust project management capabilities, and in-depth technical knowledge.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Engineering; a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent is highly valued.
  • At least 3 years of engineering experience, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to propose effective design solutions for various client requirements.
  • A recognized team player with excellent organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the capacity to evaluate diverse data sources and make informed decisions.
  • Solid project management skills, capable of delivering results within established time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Ability to cultivate and leverage effective working relationships.
