The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department at a major hospital.
This position requires a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team. The ideal candidate will have:
- a MBBS or equivalent degree, currently registered with the medical board
- five years postgraduate hospital experience
- experience in Emergency Medicine enabling safe management as the most senior person in a mixed Adult / Paediatric Emergency Department
- advanced resuscitation skills for both Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine, including Rapid Sequence Endotracheal Intubation and familiarity with Invasive and Non-invasive Ventilation
- procedural skills including ultrasound-guided insertion of Central Lines and Arterial Lines, thoracentesis, and thoracostomy placement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department
- Work effectively in a team to achieve excellent patient outcomes
- Develop and maintain advanced resuscitation skills
- Perform procedural skills such as ultrasound-guided insertion of Central Lines and Arterial Lines, thoracentesis, and thoracostomy placement
Requirements
