Hospital Registration Officer Role Summary

Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled Hospital Registration Officer to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital's admissions process.

As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for providing eligibility advice and administrative support to patients and healthcare professionals. Your key duties will include:

  • Eligibility Verification: Performing and accurately interpreting health fund checks to confirm patient eligibility for admission.
  • Administrative Support: Advising patients on administrative information relating to their hospital stay.
  • Clerical Processing: Processing clerical preadmission registrations via the Hospital Admission Booking System (HABS) or over the telephone in a timely manner.
  • Patient Information Management: Collecting and storing patient information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and documentation guidelines.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaising with Practice Managers of Visiting Medical Practitioners (VMPs) for patient eligibility as required.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively under pressure, and possess strong attention to detail. You should also have excellent customer service skills, data entry skills, and computer literacy at an intermediate level. A Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent experience is desirable.
