Job Summary

This position involves the coordination and execution of environmental management strategies. It includes rehabilitating damaged ecosystems, engaging with local communities, monitoring compliance with environmental regulations, conducting audits, managing biodiversity offsets, and preserving cultural heritage.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Environmental Management Systems.
  • Carry out regular environmental assessments and ensure adherence to NSW legislative requirements.
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES, STAKEHOLDERS, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing environmental performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to operational teams on environmental matters.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a similar role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or engineering.
  • A DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITY ASPECTS IN THE MINING INDUSTRY.
  • Experience working with Environment and Community Systems.
  • Familiarity with NSW legislative requirements.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
