Job Overview

The Senior Cost Manager role is a critical position that requires high-level cost management expertise to provide value-added services to clients in the defense sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop cost plans and project capital estimates through the design phase, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of results.
  • Prepare cost reports and estimate packages, presenting them effectively to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
  • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises, driving efficiency and innovation.
  • Deliver quality work, positioning clients for new opportunities and growth.
  • Work proactively with minimal supervision, managing juniors in the team to ensure seamless execution.
Requirements
  • A minimum defence clearance or Australian citizenship is required for this role.
  • Applicants should possess a quantity surveying or related degree, demonstrating a strong foundation in cost management principles.
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience is necessary, with AIQS or RICS membership being an ideal but not essential requirement.
  • Experience in CostX software is highly preferred.
