Job Role: Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading food manufacturing facility in Sydney, Australia. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility by maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting our machinery and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance inspections and repairs on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes to prevent downtime.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to reduce the risk of breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade equipment as required to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with other Maintenance Engineers and the production team to address any mechanical issues that may impact production.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements, including food safety regulations.
  • Assist in equipment overhauls and planned shutdowns as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce downtime.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, ideally within the food manufacturing or industrial sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments.
