The Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to fill the position of Senior Mental Health Adviser. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the appropriate use of clinical evidence to support veterans and their families to access healthcare services within their entitlements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a small team of mental health professionals in providing clinical advice and support to veterans and their families.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of healthcare services and enhance the client experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive clinical governance, quality improvement, and change management within the team.
- Manage competing priorities and fluctuating workloads while maintaining excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Provide high-level strategic advice on mental health research and policy.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA or unrestricted registration as a psychologist with AHPRA with additional relevant experience and training.
- Significant (at least 5 years) clinical experience across health areas of specific interest to DVA (e.g., general mental health, trauma, drug and alcohol).
- Recent independent clinical practice in a relevant field.
