Quality Systems Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our quality systems. As a key influencer and champion of Food Safety, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement, you will inspire and coach colleagues to embed a strong food safety culture into their daily practices.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all products exceed expectations across the board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Audits – Guide our site by delivering continuous improvement in our quality systems and achieving excellence.
  • Oversight and Compliance – Take charge of HACCP, CCPs/RCPs/QCPs, and all regulatory standards.
  • Audit Readiness – Confidently host external audits from regulators and customers, showcasing our strengths and monitoring these undertakings to implementation.
  • Critical Programs – Drive the development of critical pre-requisite programs such as GMP, document control, change management, food security, and pest control.
  • Process Optimization – Work with Group Quality to integrate and streamline Food Management Systems into one seamless process.
  • Support and Guidance – Provide coaching and guidance on non-conformances, document control, change management, and complaints management.
  • Culture Development – Design and deliver engaging programs that engage staff and improve the Food Safety Culture at site, thus delivering better quality outcomes.
  • Reporting and Recommendations – Prepare and present insightful reports on quality system performance, with clear corrective and preventative actions proposed as appropriate.
  • Delegation – Act as delegate for the Quality Manager, participating in strategic discussions and making decisions relating to product fate on a risk basis as required.
Requirements

We're after someone who's achievement-focused, detail-oriented, and has leadership experience in food manufacturing and quality systems.

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in food manufacturing and quality systems is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at a managerial level.
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food manufacturing and quality systems.
  • UHT, Dairy Powder and/or drying experience and/or knowledge of the Australian Dairy Regulatory framework is highly desirable.
  • Proven capability to lead audits and drive a proactive food safety culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to make risk-based decisions in the best interest of the business and our customers.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Organised, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-moving environment.
