Job DescriptionAs an Information Officer, you will play a critical role in the Information and Referral Team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide clear, accurate, and relevant information to victims of violent crime, their families, and stakeholders.
You will guide victims through the process, ensuring they receive the support and information they need. This will involve maintaining a victim-centric approach while working with victims of crime from diverse client groups in relation to a wide range of complex issues.
You will also be responsible for providing accurate, uncomplicated, and appropriate information to victims of crime and other stakeholders.
- Assist with applying for financial assistance under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009.
- Identify support needs and provide referrals to other organisations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills, work in an ethical and respectful manner, and prioritise workload efficiently.
Required Skills and QualificationsEssential skills and qualifications include:
- Effective communication with people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Behaviour in an ethical, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner.
- Ability to complete workload within established timeframes and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
