Key Role in Modernizing Business Intelligence

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to play a crucial part in modernizing our business intelligence environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Legacy Report Recreation and Modernization: Ensure business continuity and accuracy by recreating and modernizing existing legacy reports in Power BI.
  • Interactive Dashboard Design: Develop and design interactive dashboards integrated with Databricks and Azure-based sources, aligned with financial business logic.
  • Data Model Development: Create efficient and reusable DAX measures, Power Query (M) transformations, and semantic models that meet the needs of data engineers, analysts, and SMEs.
  • Collaboration and Validation: Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and SMEs to validate requirements and align outputs with financial business logic.
  • Visualisation Best Practices: Ensure all visuals adhere to best practices in data visualisation, governance, and performance optimisation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ Years of Experience: Hands-on experience delivering Power BI solutions in complex, enterprise environments.
  • Financial Services Background: Experience working in financial services or regulated industries.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, and data modeling (star schema, snowflake, normalization).
  • Databricks Integration: Experience integrating with Databricks and querying Delta Lake or Spark tables.
  • Azure Data Services: Strong knowledge of Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse).
  • Report Migration: Proven experience in migrating or recreating reports from legacy systems to Power BI.
  • Source Control and CI/CD: Familiarity with source control and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Documentation Tools: Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or Lucidchart.
