Job Summary

This role involves planning, designing, and maintaining substations as part of a transmission network. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in asset strategy development, design, maintenance strategies, and functional requirements.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of asset strategies, lead teams, and drive innovation in the transmission network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide guidance on asset class strategies, asset design manuals, maintenance strategies, and functional requirements.
  • Review deviations from existing standards and adoption of new practices related to detailed design, plant selection, and acceptance.
  • Manage risks associated with construction, commissioning, installation, testing, and operation.
  • Support the asset investment function by assisting the delivery team from planning through to handover as the owner customer.
  • Provide technical leadership for substation services and infrastructure and ensure compliance with regulatory performance obligations and network operation requirements.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Experience in the energy industry (transmission, distribution, or generation).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial and contracting requirements; experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis) is highly desirable.
