Teaching Chemistry in a Dynamic Environment

We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher of chemistry to join our team in Melbourne's West. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on students' academic success.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a VCE chemistry teacher to work in a growing secondary school with 1,200 students across two campuses. The successful candidate will have the chance to design and develop engaging lesson plans, deliver high-quality instruction, and create assessments that evaluate student comprehension and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with the VCE Chemistry curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students, facilitating their understanding of complex chemical concepts and theories.
  • Create and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and exams, to evaluate student comprehension and progress.
  • Organize and supervise laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring the safety and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve academic success.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, department members, and school administrators to enhance the overall learning experience for students and contribute to the school community.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education.
  • Current VIT registration.
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience teaching Chemistry at VCE level in Vic/Australia.
  • Ability to start this term (Term 2).
  • Able to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
