Senior Software Engineers play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality workflows for engineers and designers within the Hextech Gameplay team.

The team develops custom technologies and tools that power gaming experiences within League of Legends. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll focus on tooling and engine systems, advancing workflow tools to enable creators to bring their visions to life at scale.

This position requires design, build, and maintain software systems with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability. You will uphold a high standard of engineering excellence, participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.

Collaborate with designers, product managers, producers, and other engineers to understand their workflows, scope, implement, and test features. Debug and resolve issues in live environments and development pipelines. Write clear documentation and communicate technical details across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain software systems with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Uphold a high standard of engineering excellence.
  • Participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience in professional software development.
  • 3+ years of professional experience and proficiency with C++.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, etc.).
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating across disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of game engines and platform-specific APIs.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and cloud computing concepts.
  • Experience with testing frameworks and automation tools.
  • Certification in software engineering or related fields.
