Role Responsibilities
We are currently seeking experienced Personal Care Workers for our Ascot Waters Home to fill part-time shifts across AM and PM schedules. In this role, you will collaborate with our Registered Nurses to assist residents with their daily living activities, ensuring that care is delivered to the highest standard.
The Personal Care Worker position is integral to our multidisciplinary team, working within an established clinical care framework to provide tailored support to our residents. This role is essential in maintaining high-quality care and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Key Duties Include:
- Empowering residents to live independently by promoting choice and autonomy.
- Enhancing the overall quality of life for residents, addressing their physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs.
- Executing clinical and care tasks as delegated by Registered Nurses, as outlined in individual care plans.
- Assisting residents with personal hygiene and care needs while fostering their independence.
- Effectively managing workloads to deliver compassionate and respectful care.
- Exhibiting kindness and patience towards residents, while honoring their privacy, dignity, and self-esteem.
- Commitment to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act, and Quality of Care Principles.
- Reliability in adhering to a set roster and basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and infection control practices.
- Certificate III in Aged Care / Individual Support (or currently pursuing).
- Previous experience in the aged care sector is preferred but not mandatory.
- Current NDIS clearance, proof of work rights, and up-to-date immunization certificates (including influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters) are required.
