Senior Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Services Provider

Our Geriatric Memory Support Unit is seeking a skilled Psychological Support Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. As part of this role, you will provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for patients with complex medical, functional, and psychosocial needs in an inpatient hospital setting.
The primary focus of this position involves consulting on and reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans to promote person-centred and trauma-informed care. In addition to this, the successful candidate will contribute to staff training, supervision of students, quality improvements, and service development initiatives that align with our purpose of optimising quality of life in rehabilitation, aged care, and palliative care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing specialist Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology services including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, positive behaviour support planning, evaluation, and consultation to patients and their carers individually and in group settings.
- Participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to clients.
- Developing systems for monitoring, reviewing, and improving the standards of services to clients.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with an Area of Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology.
- Hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision, or: Eligible to complete PsyBA-accredited supervision. training and willing to undertake this training at the direction of the organisation to support the services' supervision requirements.
- Experience providing psychological treatments.
- High level of ability to design, implement, and evaluate psychological procedures and interventions, including psychological assessments, and consultancy services, in relation to complex clients.
- Ability to apply specialist skills in resolving clinical problems.
- Demonstrated abilities in communication, liaison, and teamwork.
