As an Academic Tutor, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality educational services to students in their homes, libraries, or other suitable locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with students and colleagues to function as an effective team member.
  • Document student progress for use in reviewing development.
  • Display respect and empathy for students with special needs.
  • Ensure confidentiality and tact when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Assist students in completing set activities, such as homework, assessments, and general skills.
  • Support senior students with career development and redirect as appropriate.
  • Maintain student progression and perform regular checks.
  • Communicate with parents about further learning options and advice that will benefit students.
  • Work with students who require additional support.
  • Listen to students' reading and assist with comprehension.
  • Read aloud and tell stories to engage students.
  • Help students build self-confidence and motivation.
  • Complete end-of-term reports to assess student progress.
  • Support students with mental health and overall well-being.
  • Develop teaching resources tailored to individual students based on their level.
  • Assist students in finding relevant reference materials.

Subject Requirements:
English (Primary & Secondary)
Mathematics (Primary & Secondary)
Science (Primary & Secondary) (preferred)

Obtaining a Blue Card may be supported if needed.
