Job Title: State Distributor Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire distribution network within a state, ensuring seamless product management and sales growth. This includes effective utilisation of promotional funds, distribution strategies, and negotiation with distributors to achieve targeted sales and contribution margins.

This role acts as a product line advisor, applying principles of range/category management while driving business objectives. The successful candidate will also coach and mentor team members, assisting with promotional planning, financial management, and range optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales expenditure to align with budget targets and achieve budgeted sales figures in Gross Sales Value, Volume, and Contribution.
  • Negotiate and manage independent trading terms in conjunction with senior sales managers.
  • Achieve and maintain distribution of new and current products, ensuring customer retention and acquisition.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure tactical execution of agreed business plans at End User level.
  • Prepare and maintain an Annual Business Development Plan outlining strategies to drive business across all product lines within Victoria.
  • Analyse market share trends, competitor activity, pricing, and distribution, making recommendations to senior sales managers.
  • Communicate promotional programmes, ranging, deals, and sales information to the field monthly.
  • Manage pricing within the State customer base aligned to national sales strategy.
  • Owning the volume forecast for all product lines and ensuring Demand Management processes are met.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or a relevant discipline (desired).
  • Proven experience in Foodservice, Sales, or a related FMCG industry.
  • Demonstrated IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Substantial demonstrated account management experience.
  • Ability to work closely with senior sales managers, as well as operate autonomously.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • High-level business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships aligned to customer focus and business plans.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
