About the Role


As a Nurse Unit Manager with Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, you will play a key role in the operational management of our Mental Health Unit (South West Clinic). This position offers a unique opportunity for experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurses to advance their careers in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide operational direction to the ward/unit, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources and delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, and supporting the development of less experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other hospital stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with ACQSHC National standards and maintain a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.

Requirements



  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Acute setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.

  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Working with Children check (if relevant).
  • Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Acute setting.
  • Degree in relevant specialty area or working towards.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management.
  • Demonstrated HR management experience.
