About the Role
As a Nurse Unit Manager with Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, you will play a key role in the operational management of our Mental Health Unit (South West Clinic). This position offers a unique opportunity for experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurses to advance their careers in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational direction to the ward/unit, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources and delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, and supporting the development of less experienced team members.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other hospital stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and business goals.
- Ensure compliance with ACQSHC National standards and maintain a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
Requirements
- Current Registration with AHPRA.
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
- Experience in the Acute setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.

Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA.
- Working with Children check (if relevant).
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
- Experience in the Acute setting.
- Degree in relevant specialty area or working towards.
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases.
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management.
- Demonstrated HR management experience.
