Job Opportunity

A Speech Therapist is required to join our team, providing swallowing and communication assessment and intervention services for adults in residential aged care facilities and the local community.

This position supports residential aged care homes in Townsville, offering opportunities for recent graduates and experienced clinicians alike. Reporting to a state-based Team Leader, you will provide high-quality mobile Speech Therapy services to adults living in residential aged care facilities and the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your calendar of appointments with flexibility
  • Assess and diagnose clients' swallowing and communication difficulties
  • Potential for national travel to support clients in regional locations
  • Provision of telehealth-based dysphagia and/or communication assessment and intervention
  • Liaison with our close-knit national team of Speech Therapists
  • Advocating for support for clients with communication difficulties
  • Working closely with organisational staff, support coordinators, and colleagues to ensure optimum care needs are met
  • Providing consultative and educational support to clients, their families, and colleagues
