About the Role
We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our team at McConnell Dowell Constructors Aust. Pty Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice and assistance to the Project Manager for the development, implementation, review, and revision of HSE sections of the Project Execution Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and assistance to the Project Manager for the development, implementation, review, and revision of HSE sections of the Project Execution Plan.
- Maintain the project library of safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Report on health and safety matters to the Project Manager, including preparation of incident and loss statistics and monthly summary reports.
- Promote and encourage a culture of working safely and set a positive example for all other personnel.
- Participate in project risk assessments and preparation of risk control documents.
- Ensure regular site safety inspections of site activities are carried out.
- Ensure all local statutory requirements for Health, Safety, and Environment are incorporated into the Project Execution Plan.
About You
We are looking for a highly experienced Health and Safety Manager who has extensive operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and be resourceful/self-reliant in investigating and enquiring into issues.
Requirements
- Extensive operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry.
- Able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and be resourceful/self-reliant in investigating and enquiring into issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Extensive knowledge of risk management principles and the practical application thereof.
- Competent user of in-house software, with working knowledge of wider applications.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures.
