Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Bay Supervisor to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Wodonga. As a key member of our Automotive On-Highway team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of technicians and apprentices, ensuring a smooth process from beginning to end, and adhering to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and mentor a team of technicians and apprentices to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Process Management: Consult with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth process from beginning to end, including the management of workflow, resources, and timelines.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and report any issues or incidents to the Branch Leadership.
  • Documentation: Complete required documentation, including reports, records, and other administrative tasks.
  • Hands-on Supervision: Be a hands-on supervisor from time to time, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A qualified Heavy Diesel Automotive Mechanic is preferred, but we will also consider a Light Vehicle background with heavy experience.
  • Experience: Experience working on engine products and Heavy On-Highway Vehicles, such as Kenworth and Western Star, is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in using electronic troubleshooting systems and following defined OEM procedures is required.
  • License: An HR (Heavy Rigid License) Truck is advantageous.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Previous or demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring in a workshop environment, effective communication and organization skills, and the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment are essential.
