About the Role

Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities.

In partnership with the Australia Defence Force, we are seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to join us on a full-time basis at a defence base in Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate site-based Land Management activities across the Defence Estate in Tasmania, including remote sites.
  • Oversee elements of the Base environmental management programs, including managing weed, fire, feral animals, overabundant species, fuel reduction, and monitoring programs.
  • Implement plans and procedures to support delivery of land management and grounds maintenance services.
  • Provide technical oversight of environmental and grounds maintenance works as required under the EMOS contract with the Department of Defence.
  • Develop and update management plans and reporting systems for environmental works delivery.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Defence, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in assurance and compliance activities and implement improvement action plans.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in horticulture or relevant years of experience.
  • Qualifications in environmental science or related experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing teams delivering environmental programs.
  • Experience in contract and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Sound problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated written communication and IT skills.
