About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation and management of our network and security infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability and uptime, while minimising impacts on our business operations.

Your primary objective will be to maintain and improve our network and security infrastructure by undertaking proactive monitoring, regular patching and upgrades, and optimising network infrastructure. You will also lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve issues in a timely manner, providing 2nd level or 3rd level support as needed.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will play a critical role in training IT employees on network and security technology, ensuring that knowledge is shared and retained within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement and manage network and security infrastructure to ensure high availability and uptime.

  2. Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve network failures in a timely manner, minimising impact on business operations.

  3. Train IT employees on network and security technology, ensuring knowledge sharing and retention.

  4. Document networks, security models and operational procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and retention.

  5. Design and implement network and security solutions to meet project or security requirements in a timely manner.

  6. Report any potential or existing workplace hazards to your Supervisor/Manager.

  7. Report any injury or illness arising from workplace activities immediately to your Supervisor/Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Cisco CCNP, CCSP or CCDP certification
  • Tertiary or degree qualification in Information Technology
  • Advance troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Cisco hardware experience
  • Experience supporting Level 3 Citrix Netscalers, F5 Load Balancers, Fortigates
  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing and managing network and security infrastructure
  • Experience designing and maintaining complex networks and experience with networking protocols, services and standards
  • Experience leading development and contributing to network solutions to large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience acting as mentor and coach to other team members
  • Knowledge of customer service level agreements
  • Willingness to learn other business applications

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of approximately AUD 120,000 per annum, depending on experience. This role is based in Australia and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
