About the Role:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) team. As a key leadership position, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the model of care to reduce service gaps and improve outcomes for young people in custody.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the model of care to reduce service gaps and improve outcomes for young people in custody
- Develop the integration of research, education, clinical practice, leadership, and supervision across the service and wider Orygen Specialist Program
- Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to provide training and primary and secondary consultation to young people with complex physical health needs
- Provision of training and secondary consultation to develop capabilities of Youth Justice Precinct, primary health, and FYMHS staff working with young people and their families/carers from diverse backgrounds
About You:
- Qualified and endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Knowledge and demonstrated skills in the principles and practice of working with mental health patients with addiction/AOD issues
- Experience developing and delivering training programs that upskill health workers
- Experience in reviewing and developing policies, evaluating risk and quality improvement, clinical research, and knowledge translation
