Mental Health Leader for the Kimberley Region

About the Role:
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our mental health services in the Kimberley region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive mental health services across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical leadership for the Psychiatry Liaison Nurse Service and ensure compliance with the Western Australian Mental Health Act (2014)
* Lead a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry registrars, intern, Aboriginal Liaison Officers, nurses and allied health professionals
* Mentorship and supervision of junior medical staff to foster their growth while maintaining high standards of care
* Develop and utilise a deeper understanding of mental health within Aboriginal communities
About the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service:
Our team delivers collaborative, recovery-oriented services to those of all ages, cultures, and locations in the region. Located on the Broome Hospital Campus, the Broome Mental Health Unit, Mabu Liyan—meaning "a place of good spirit", is a 13-bed acute psychiatric facility serving the Kimberley and Pilbara regions.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $400,000 - $600,000 per annum, plus generous leave entitlements, relocation assistance, and a range of employee benefits including salary packaging and professional development opportunities.
About the Region:
The Kimberley is Western Australia's northernmost region, bordered by the Pilbara region to the south and the Northern Territory to the east. Home to around 40,000 people, with approximately 50% identifying as Aboriginal, the region is rich in cultural diversity and experiences.
