About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural & Outfitting Engineer to join our team at Navantia Australia Pty Ltd. in Osborne, Adelaide. As a key member of our multi-disciplined Engineering team, you will work on exciting new naval ship designs and contribute to the success of our combat systems modernisation program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering knowledge and experience to the execution of a large and complex engineering and shipbuilding project, incorporating multiple system changes and upgrades.
  • Design and develop structures and outfitting elements, including ship main structure, equipment foundations, false floor, and other structural/outfitting elements as part of a complex ship upgrade.
  • Provide onsite platform system engineering design and support the Melbourne Design Engineering Centre (DEC).
  • Engage with stakeholders, external and internal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage engineering change, including PIRs, Deviations, and locally delegated engineering changes.
Requirements
  • 4 years' experience in relevant engineering or marine environment working in a shipbuilding or related engineering role.
  • Experience in the design of structures or outfitting elements on naval ship platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to operate autonomously, and demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients.
