The role of the E-Prescribing Pharmacist is a pivotal position within our organization, with a strong focus on developing and maintaining chemotherapy protocols.

Job Description

This pharmacist will be responsible for implementing electronic prescribing, dispensing, and drug administration within our ARIA Medical Oncology Information System.

A key aspect of this role is to ensure that technology enhancements support clinical workflows, comply with regulatory requirements, and enhance patient safety.

The successful candidate will design, build, and test clinical decision support within the application, working closely with cross-functional teams.

In addition, the E-Prescribing Pharmacist will serve as an application specialist for ARIA Medical Oncology, providing expert guidance and support to other staff members.

This position has the potential to expand its scope to chemotherapy administered to inpatients, requiring the pharmacist to work collaboratively with Pharmacy staff and hospital departments.

To achieve success, the pharmacist must establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and knowledge sharing.

The position holder will lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures to facilitate improved workflows across Cancer services related to electronic prescribing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Pharmacist registration in Australia
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy practice, preferably in oncology
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in ARIA Medical Oncology Information System
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
