Structural Engineering Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural components and processes for complex projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct independent Civil/Structural work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs).
  • Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned.
  • Design structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
  • Determine the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements.
  • Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
  • Develop conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and support implementation and assist with performance reporting.
  • Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performancedata.
  • Mentor Civil/Structural engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development.
  • Lead constructability reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Expertise in 3D analysis software.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
