The Role

You will play a critical role in assessing each application meticulously, collaborating closely with customers, sales, and account management teams to ensure the best outcomes for both parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate underwriting of commercial loan applications in the 'Prospa Plus/Full Doc' segment ($250K-$500K).
  • Perform bank statement analysis for low-doc up to $250K.
  • Provide in-depth detailed analysis of financial statements and calculate industry and credit risk.
  • Present deals to the Credit Committee with a comprehensive understanding of the risk and associated mitigants in a given transaction.
  • Conduct credit calls with clients and relevant stakeholders to collect additional information relevant to the proposed transaction.
  • Liaise with senior members in other areas of the business to discuss scenarios and appeals.
  • Prepare clear, thorough, and informative credit papers for each application.
  • Comply with internal controls and government regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years underwriting/Credit analyst experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field desirable but not necessary.
  • Previously held a DLA (delegated lending authority).
  • Experience in commercial lending.
  • Experience with business financial documents such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, AR/RP.
  • Strong credit risk acumen and commercial judgment.
  • Experience with property secured lending is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with personal and company credit reports, ASIC searches, and other various background information.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and ability to follow processes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interact professionally with management, sales, and business owners.
  • Experience in a high-pressured environment working to deadlines.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
