About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team of highly competent and innovative specialists committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement tailored learning programs and interventions.

As a Learning Support Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to thrive academically and personally.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, numeracy support or teaching mathematics, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Develop and implement high-quality learning enrichment programs with a focus on numeracy for students.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers and the Learning Support team to create modified learning materials and programs.
  • Individualised Plans: Develop and maintain individual Learning Plans to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Liaison with Families: Liaise with families to provide clarity and confidence regarding their child's progress.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide a duty of care and foster the personal well-being of all students.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience: Appropriate post-graduate qualifications in Learning Support or Special Education, along with a minimum of three years of experience working with students with diverse needs.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to deal respectfully and effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Personal Attributes: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, initiative, compassion and empathy for students with learning disabilities.
