About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Estimator to join our team at JV Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for large-scale commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and manage comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including education and institutional sectors.
  2. Analyse project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope and cost of work.
  3. Prepare and present detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, quantities, and project timelines.
  4. Review and assess tender documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  5. Conduct thorough cost analysis, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  6. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project budgets.
  7. Obtain and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
  8. Negotiate terms and ensure that all subcontractor and supplier agreements are accurately reflected in the final estimate.
  9. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and provide updates on the status of estimates and proposals.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimation work, including calculations, assumptions, and bid proposals.
  11. Prepare and present reports as required.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator with a focus on commercial projects.
  2. Proven ability to independently manage and tender projects exceeding $10 million.
  3. Previous experience tendering projects in the commercial sector.
  4. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
