Protect Our Network Boundaries

We are committed to building a safe operating environment for our users and developers. As a key member of our Security team, you will be responsible for protecting network boundaries, hardening computer systems and network devices against attacks, and providing security services to safeguard sensitive data like passwords and customer information.

Our Security Engineers work directly with network equipment, actively monitoring our systems for attacks and intrusions. They also collaborate with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

You will be a recognized expert in at least two security domains, using your leadership skills to manage a team that sets the direction and goals for solving Google-wide problems. You will identify fundamental security issues at Google and drive major security improvements in Google infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspire, grow, and develop talent, and set direction for the team.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across Security Engineering.
  • Design and develop tools and infrastructure services to enable enterprise security at scale.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in security as a contributor.
  • 5 years of experience in managing a team of engineering or security professionals for a distributed organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in protecting systems, security assessments, or security testing of platforms.
  • Experience in recruiting and managing a team of engineers on projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
