Job Title: Network Security Specialist

">We are seeking a skilled Network Security Specialist to provide day-to-day guidance and expertise to our Gateway team members. As part of this role, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to IS-SPP (Information Security Strategic Policy Framework), Defence Security Policies, and frameworks.

About The Role:

">Your primary responsibility will be to monitor network data streams and event log data to optimize and maintain gateway operations. Additionally, you will need to identify vulnerabilities to the network and implement measures to address them in accordance with set guidelines.
">

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Monitor network data streams and event log data to ensure optimal gateway operations and identify potential issues;">
  • Improve vulnerability management by identifying and addressing vulnerabilities to the network in accordance with set guidelines;">
  • Ensure service availability meets or exceeds customer service availability guidelines;">
  • Maintain accurate security records and documentation;">
  • Investigate identified security breaches and recommend necessary actions;">
  • Assist users in defining access rights and privileges, and administer logical access controls and security systems;">
  • Cover areas of monitoring, incident/service requests/process improvements, development, and security compliance;">

Requirements:

">
  • AGSVA Security Clearance;">
  • Network experience (CCNA is not required) switches, routers, SNAT/NAT;">
  • Firewall experience preferably a mix of Stateful and Layer 7;">
  • Firewalls Proxy experience Solaris or Linux/Unix experience understanding of commands and concepts is required;">
  • Mail experience understanding the setup and maintenance of Servers and clients;">
  • Troubleshooting experience - the ability to perform root cause analysis on network/computer issues on clients, servers, and network equipment;">
  • A general understanding of Computer/Network Security Policies and enforcement;">
  • Load Balancing experience;">
  • Experience in configuring and supporting Apache;">
  • Experience in supporting a DNS environment;">
  • Experience in supporting Windows Server and associated domains;">
  • General scripting skills Shell, Perl, etc.">
