Aboriginal Housing Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive Aboriginal Housing Support Professional to support our organisation's mission of providing safe and empowering services to Aboriginal clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic support and guidance to Aboriginal people, helping them to achieve their independent living goals and access essential housing services. This role requires a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures and the ability to connect with community members in a meaningful way.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive support and education to Aboriginal clients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their housing and independent living options.
  • Building relationships with local service providers and stakeholders to facilitate access to culturally safe and relevant services.
  • Attending team and sector meetings to contribute to the exchange of information and best practices related to housing and homelessness.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant qualification or significant experience in a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures and histories, including the impact of trauma and intergenerational trauma.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
