Senior Natural Sciences Collection Enhancement Coordinator Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Natural Sciences Collection Enhancement Coordinator to lead the digitization of our natural science collections.

About the Digitization Project

  • The Collection Enhancement Project aims to standardize and streamline digitization activities across the museum.
  • The project focuses on digitally registering specimens, capturing high-resolution images, and improving collection management, audit capabilities, and accessibility of the collections.

Your Role in the Project

  • You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Natural Science Collection Enhancement Project.
  • You will work closely with collection staff, barcoding staff, and the EMu and DigiVol teams under the direction of the Natural Sciences Digitization Manager Collection Enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the digitization of the museum's natural science collections.
  • Work with collection staff, barcoding staff, and other teams to ensure the successful completion of digitization projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and deliver timely reporting.
  • Develop clear and effective documentation of workflows, processes, and standards in digitisation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in the digitization of physical, natural, or cultural collections or a relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of collection management and information systems.
  • Experience in coordinating large-scale digitization projects.
