About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Development Professional to join our Vocational Schools Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting young people to understand their full potential, regardless of their background or individual circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the delivery of pastoral care and community development programs to meet student wellbeing needs and attendance targets.
  • Plan and lead wellbeing programs for students, empowering them to recognize their true value and gain fulfillment from seeing them grow into confident, self-assured adults.
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students, fostering their strengths, passions, interests, and unmet needs.
  • Assist in delivering associated programs, services, and events offered to young people through the operation of the campus.
  • Form intentional relationships with young people to support their strengths, passions, interests, and unmet needs.
  • Support and case manage identified students in line with school policies and practices, utilizing a non-judgmental, empathic framework.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Certificate IV or above in Youth Work, Community Services, or other relevant qualifications.
  • Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds, and their families.
  • Ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies to maintain a supportive environment.
  • Commitment to working with young people using the Strengths Approach and demonstrating a non-judgmental, empathic framework.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
