Job Opportunity

This is a challenging role for a Graduate Engineer to support industrial refrigeration projects with opportunities for professional growth and hands-on engineering experience.

Your Role
  • Engineering calculations and designs for refrigeration solutions will be performed.
  • Estimates and tender submissions for minor and major project work will be prepared.
  • Evaluating and modifying existing refrigeration plants to meet client requirements will be done.
  • All services including consulting, contract work, maintenance, and parts supply with a strong focus on customer support will be assisted with.
  • Managing projects including supplier negotiations, design coordination, procurement, resource coordination, and project administration will be conducted.
  • Project costs will be controlled ensuring successful project completion and regular forecasting will be conducted.
  • Risk assessments will be prepared and health and safety systems for all equipment and project work will be ensured compliance.
  • Project scheduling using MS Project will be used.
  • Knowledge of applicable Australian and International standards will be developed and compliance will be ensured.
  • Drafting for small projects and manufacturing using AutoCAD and hand sketches will be done.
  • Liaising with mechanical designers, boilermakers, and other tradespersons to facilitate safe and efficient equipment designs will be done.
  • Safety and engineering audits of refrigeration systems on site and client reports will be compiled.
  • Contributing to the continuous development of internal systems to streamline engineering and project management functions will be done.
  • Administrative duties related to engineering and project management will be completed.
  • Supervising and assisting with commissioning new plants as appropriate will be done.
  • Delivering training for internal and external technical personnel will be assisted with.
  • Supporting the service department with engineering and small contracting support will be done.
  • Care for health and safety and cooperating with management to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation will be taken.
  • Duties assigned by the supervisor will be performed.
  • Fronline delivery of GBI's services to customers in line with contractual obligations or as directed by the Projects Leader, Engineering Lead, or Branch Manager will be supported.
  • Outstanding levels of customer satisfaction will be provided.
  • Expertise in all systems under GBI's control will be developed.
  • A proactive approach to rectifying incidents before they arise will be maintained.
  • Maintaining a neat and clean appearance while representing GBI will be done.About You
    • Tertiary qualification (minimum B.Eng.) in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering is required.
    • Ability to create, read, and interpret drawings is needed.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
    • A proactive approach and ability to work autonomously are required.
    • Attention to detail is needed.
    • Keenness to learn and develop through contact with various professionals, including fabricators, consultants, and tradespeople is required.
    • Possession of a current valid driver's license is needed.
    • Current right to work in Australia is required.
    • Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including reference checks, medical, criminal record check, and drug & alcohol testing is necessary.
