As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in our team. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement innovative refrigeration solutions for industrial projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You will perform detailed engineering calculations and designs to meet client requirements.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and tender submissions for minor and major project work.
  • Evaluate and modify existing refrigeration plants to ensure compliance with mechanical engineering principles.
  • Assist with all services including consulting, contract work, maintenance, and parts supply, with a focus on exceptional customer support.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including supplier negotiations, design coordination, procurement, resource allocation, and project administration.
  • Control project costs and ensure successful project completion, conducting regular forecasting as needed.
  • Prepare risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety systems for all equipment and project work.
  • Use MS Project to schedule projects effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable Australian and International standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Draft designs for small projects and manufacturing using AutoCAD and hand sketches, requiring creativity and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with mechanical designers, boilermakers, and other tradespersons to facilitate safe and efficient equipment designs.
  • Complete safety and engineering audits of refrigeration systems on site and compile comprehensive client reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of internal systems to streamline engineering and project management functions.
  • Perform administrative duties related to engineering and project management.
  • Supervise and assist with commissioning new plants as necessary.
  • Deliver training for internal and external technical personnel.
  • Support the service department with engineering and small contracting support.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to health and safety, cooperating with management to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Perform duties as assigned by your supervisor.
About You
  • We are looking for a tertiary-qualified (minimum B.Eng.) Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineer with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to create, read, and interpret drawings is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • A proactive approach and ability to work autonomously are crucial.
  • Attention to detail is also a key requirement.
  • Keenness to learn and develop through contact with various professionals is a valuable asset.
  • Possession of a current valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Current right to work in Australia is also required.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including reference checks, medical, criminal record check, and drug & alcohol testing, is expected.
