Key Role in Transport Innovation

The National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO) is an innovation portal for government and industry, creating new knowledge through research, developing means to improve practice, and providing expert advice to transport agencies and industry.

As a Principal Pavement Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of transport innovation. You will develop innovative solutions that deliver measurable, real-world benefits to our community, collaborate with diverse teams, and apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to design and oversee laboratory studies and field trials.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing pavement strategies that optimize performance and durability
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to pavement management
  • Applying data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes
  • Leveraging professional networks to identify opportunities for growth and development

Requirements include:

  • Civil Engineering degree or higher
  • Up to 10 years of experience in the transport industry
  • Strong technical knowledge in pavement management and engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in unsealed roads and/or specialized pavement materials
