We are seeking a dedicated leader to fill the role of Head of Learning Area. This permanent full-time position will commence in Term 4, 2025, and involves leading the Health and Physical Education Department at Hampton Senior High School.

The successful applicant will possess highly effective organisational skills, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of enthusiastic teachers to support best practice in and out of the classroom.

Job Description

This is a senior leadership role that requires strategic leadership experience, professional knowledge, and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure high levels of educational outcomes for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Utilise research-based high-impact teaching strategies to work closely with students, teachers, and the community for an unrelenting focus on student achievement.
  • Reflect on and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice and cultivate a safe learning environment.
  • Experience in the use of classroom observations and instructional coaching is considered beneficial.

In addition, applicants must have experience adhering to safety and duty of care policies, particularly relating to Water Safety, as we have a pool.

Eligibility
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before commencing employment.
