About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Avionics Engineer to support a world-class airborne surveillance, communications, and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail.

As a member of our Sustainment team, you will be responsible for emerging customer needs and working in a collaborative environment to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop diverse engineering solutions for integrated avionics, COTS equipment, and custom electrical power, simulation, and control systems.
  • Install system hardware infrastructure and associated connectivity.
  • Develop engineering documentation and configuration management of system hardware infrastructure.
  • Work with the project team to ensure the engineering scope is delivered within the quality, schedule, and budgetary constraints of the project.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a conscientious and inclusive way.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Qualifications in engineering or equivalent technical experience in an electrical/electronic discipline (RPEQ &/or CPEng desirable).
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes.
  • Australian Citizenship to meet Defence NV1 security requirements.
  • Experience with Electrical System Design and compliance to Australian standards.
  • Experience in Aircraft power distribution design.
  • Experience in writing technical reports and developing documentation related to electrical systems.
  • Experience in the development of work instructions and test procedures for the periodic testing for electrical safety of electrical systems.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ, Electrical) in Electrical Engineering, or eligibility to obtain.

Desirable

  • Experience with the E-7A Wedgetail Platform.
  • Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environment.
  • Experience in Electrical System Design and Development through to Production, and compliance with Australian and Defence standards.
  • Experience in Electronic system design, including schematic capture.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) considerations with respect to electrical/electronic design.
  • Experience in development of production drawings and materials for the production of Cable & Wire Harnesses.
  • Experience in the design of AC-DC and DC-AC power systems and electronic circuits.
