
Support Community Safety Specialist

Auxiliary firefighters play a vital role in supporting emergency services, responding to incidents and promoting community safety by attending calls, participating in training sessions and operating specialist equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend 50% of emergency calls as a day worker or 30% as a shift worker with commitment to timely response.
- Participate in regular drills and training sessions maintaining required standards for attendance and skill development.
- Operate firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
- Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment.
- Mandatory requirements include written consent from employer, living or working within reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station, Australian permanent resident status and manual C-class driver's license.
- Auxiliary firefighters are expected to commit to ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs including first aid and emergency care.
Auxiliary firefighters will be assessed on leadership and management behavioural competencies including performance through vision results and accountability.
They must exemplify shared values: respect integrity trust courage loyalty and commitment to personal development.
