Societe Generale Assurances seeks a highly skilled Corporate Legal Advisor to join its team in Sydney, Australia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented lawyer to provide legal advice and support to the bank's business divisions in Australia. The successful candidate will work closely with our lawyers in Asia and Europe to deliver high-quality legal services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to clearly explain complex financial and legal issues. They will also have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop working relationships with business teams in Sydney and the wider APAC region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and assistance on a wide range of matters related to banking and finance, including project finance lending, asset backed lending, and debt capital markets.
  • Work closely with business teams to understand their needs and provide timely and effective legal support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the regulatory sector and provide advice on how these changes may impact the bank's business.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external advisors, including law firms and other lenders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Law and another discipline (such as Commerce or Economics).
  • Pre-graduate experience in a financial services or legal institution or setting is desirable.
  • Strong ability in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office generally.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian laws, regulations and guidelines in relation to banking and financing activities.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is AU$120,000 per annum, plus benefits. This includes a base salary, superannuation, and access to a comprehensive benefits package.
