This position will collaborate closely with the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the General Manager – Commercial, and will engage with various operational, commercial, and financial teams within the organization. Key Responsibilities:

As the Environment and Sustainability Manager, you will be supported by a skilled team while managing specific processes and queries independently. You will be expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization's short- and long-term goals.

This role encompasses four primary focus areas:

  • Sustainability Strategy
    • Collaborate with the Senior Team to implement the Aurora Dairies Sustainability Strategy and Initiatives, focusing on:
    • People and communities
    • Sustainable farming systems
    • Responsible stewardship
  • Sustainability Culture
    • Lead and coordinate company-wide educational programs.
    • Work with the Senior Team to foster a culture of sustainable practices and commitment to the Sustainability Strategic Plans.
    • Develop sustainability-focused training programs, compliance monitoring, and related policies.
    • Integrate sustainability into the employee experience across all farms.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and community organizations.
    • Support industry and community engagement initiatives related to sustainability.
    • Engage with external stakeholders on sustainability matters as needed.
    • Identify opportunities for collaboration and funding for sustainability initiatives.
  • Contribute as a vital member of the Aurora Dairies business.
  • Work with the Senior Team to incorporate sustainability objectives into operational planning.
  • Provide expertise on sustainability issues, including climate-related matters and best practices.
  • Coordinate internal benchmarking and reporting for investors.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A qualified environmental professional with a degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • A proactive team player with the ability to work independently and manage multiple objectives.
  • Strong influencing, coaching, and negotiation skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to regional and international locations as part of the role.

  • Experience in the dairy or agricultural sector is advantageous but not essential.
